  • BC Council for Families - "The Early Years, The Precious Years"

    "The Early Years, The Precious Years" is available again. This booklet, written by Mary Gordon, highlights various aspects of early childhood development. This publication is available free of charge to British Columbian individuals and organizations. We hope you will help us reach parents of children from zero to six by ordering copies of this booklet and placing them in an area where people will be able to help themselves to copies. They might also be handed out to parents who attend any of your programming.
    Please contact the BC Council for Families office if you would like to order copies or if you have any questions. Please note that due to postage costs minimum orders of 50 will be accepted (a box contains 400).

    This caregiver guide is intended to be a hands-on resource for parents and caregivers of babies who have been prenatally exposed to alcohol and other drugs. Information for the handbook was gathered from various sources, including parents, caregivers, professionals and published books and articles.

There are sections to explore cultural values all relevant to the importance of early development. This is one resource programs will enjoy adding to their library.

    The Pregnancy & Resource Directory (P&B Directory) was developed by Community Health Associates of BC (CHABC) for Community Health Workers and others who work with women and families to promote good prenatal and postnatal care. This 58 page resource is broken into the following sections:
